I discovered Leuchtturm1917 notebooks on a recent visit to McNally Jackson one rainy Saturday afternoon and ended up purchasing one of the medium-sized squared notebooks (a.k.a. graph paper) in a chic camel color. It looks so stylish and the experience of writing in it is akin to what I would imagine going for a joy ride in a new car would feel like. There's a blank table of contents in the front to organize your notes, numbered pages, and smooth, ink-proof paper so that your ink doesn't bleed. Lurrrrrrve.
My cousin Victoria sent out a baby shower invitation and asked everyone to send their favorite storybook with a personal message written inside. I went to McNally on this cold rainy Sunday and chose "Goodnight Moon" by Margaret Wise Brown:
I am very happy to welcome you into this world. I used to babysit a little boy named Ethan on the Upper East Side who loved this book--and I loved reading it to him. I look forward to the day when I can read it to you!
Sending lots of love from New York City,
McNally Jackson is my favorite bookstore ever. Period. I'm here pretty frequently, usually in the cooking section on the weeken. They also have a cute cafe and a fantastic selection of journals and notebooks. Did you know that you can also self-publish your own books here? Amazing. I highly recommend that you follow their Twitter account, which is filled with hilarious observations: @mcnallyjackson.
