Cutting Board Therapy

On my first day back to New York, to fall back into the rhythm of things after ten idle days on the beach, I literally got into the rhythm of things... By doing prep work for a beef stew.

It was me, three onions, four stalks of celery, three carrots, and six cloves of garlic.

Chop, chop, chop, chop, chop, chop, chop, chop, chop, chop, chop, chop, chop, chop... *A bite of salami, a bite of garlic & herb cheddar, a sip of grüner veltliner*... Chop, chop, chop, chop, chop, chop, chop, chop, chop, chop, chop....

Zen does not confuse spirituality with thinking about God while one is peeling potatoes. Zen spirituality is just to peel the potatoes.
